Dr. T. V. L. Narasimha Rao is a distinguished materials and metallurgical engineer with over three decades of exemplary contributions spanning aerospace materials, advanced manufacturing, and industrial R&D leadership. Currently serving as Technical Advisor at Sundaram Clayton Limited and Adjunct Professor in the Department of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering at IIT Madras, he has earlier held key leadership roles including Chief Technology Officer and Vice President (R&D). A PhD from IISc Bengaluru, Dr. Rao has played a pivotal role in advancing titanium alloys, superalloys, casting science, and computational process design, with significant impact in both strategic defense programs and automotive lightweighting technologies. He has guided doctoral research, authored over 75 international publications, filed multiple patents, and co-authored national technology vision documents for TIFAC, including Vision 2020 and Vision 2035. A recipient of the Young Engineer of the Year Award and the SODET R&D Innovation Award, Dr. Rao is widely respected for seamlessly bridging scientific rigor with industrial relevance and for his enduring commitment to technological excellence and nation-building.
