One of our Doctoral Scholar has been “Best Paper Award”.

Please join us in congratulating Ms. Milan Shahana, Doctoral Scholar (MM18D015), Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering on being awarded the “Best Paper Award” for her paper titled “Long-Term High-Temperature Oxidation Behaviour of Cold-Sprayed and Heat-Treated IN718 Coatings: A Comparative Study with Wrought Alloy” at the International Conference & Exhibition on Corrosion (ICECORR 2025), held during August 20-22, 2025 at Kochi. She is guided by Prof. Kamaraj M and Prof. Srinivasa Rao Bakshi.

Congratulations to Prof. Kamaraj M, Prof. Srinivasa Rao Bakshi and their Doctoral Scholar Ms. Milan Shahana.

The article that appeared in Times of India on low cost solar power technology

We are happy to share the article that appeared in Times of India on low cost solar power tech developed by Prof. Tiju Thomas, Prof. Sreeram and their student Adithyan TR (MM22D058). The work was part of an SERB funded project in which I was involved as a Co-PI.

One of our PhD students, review article on additively manufactured (AM) Ni-base superalloys has been published.

We are happy to share that the first comprehensive review article on creep of AM Ni-base superalloys has been published in Journal of Materials Science by the group of Prof. Ravi Sankar.

We are delighted to inform you that one of our PhD students, Mr Sabari Rajan's (MM19D754) review article on additively manufactured (AM) Ni-base superalloys has been published. We must mention that this happens to be the first comprehensive review article in the AM literature dealing with creep of AM Ni-base superalloys. Congratulations to Prof. Ravi Sankar, his collaborators and students.

A review of silver nanowire-based composites for flexible electronic applications, has received a top cited paper award.

We are happy to share that the review article A review of silver nanowire-based composites for flexible electronic applications from the group of Prof. Parasuraman has received top cited paper award for receiving top 1% most cited papers in IOP’s portfolio for 2022-2024.

The authors, Dr. Neha and Dr. Nitheesh, were former IDRP Regular PhD students working jointly with Dr. Debdutta Ray. Dr. Nagasarvari was a regular PhD student in the department.
